A recent study found that tradies are more likely to take care of their tools than they are to take care of their health. This is alarming, given that you’re more likely to get injured on the job than any other industry.
The research from the Australian Physiotherapy Association also found that nearly two thirds (64 per cent) of tradies had been injured in their current job and half of these said they expected to be injured again.
Around a quarter of the tradies questioned said they would consider a work mate a “wuss” if they complained about an injury. A shocking 55 per cent said aches and pains were a part of the job.
As tradies we need to start taking better care of our health or it could lead to debilitating consequences.
One way tradies take care of their health is by being prepared for the work they will undertake by undergoing the appropriate training. Safety training for construction tradies is crucial and it starts with White Card induction training.
