A worker has fallen 20 metres while working on a construction site at Varsity Lakes.
The Gold Coast father had his feet amputated after the incident on Wednesday.
The carpenter was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital where he had his feet amputated. He is in a stable condition.
The man was put into an induced coma following his fall on Monday.
The 37 year old man moved to Australia from Ireland where he has worked for about 15 years.
Falls are still the most common cause of injury on construction sites and work sites in general.
