The latest figures from Safe Work Australia reveals that an alarming 120 workers in Australia have been killed while on duty in 2017.
The industries with the highest number of fatalities were as follows,
- Transport, postal & warehousing – 47 fatalities
- Agriculture, forestry & fishing – 27 fatalities
- Construction – 23 fatalities
- Arts & recreation services – 5 fatalities
The construction industry consistently appears in the top highest risk industries in Australia despite this, it is a lucrative industry which many people find very rewarding.
