Calls for an urgent safety review of the construction industry and scaffolding in particular have been renewed following the death of an 18 year old apprentice at a Sydney construction site recently.
The most recent fatality was that of 18 year old Christopher Cassaniti who died after a 16 metre high scaffolding collapsed.
The man was taken to Royal North Shore Hospitali in a critical condition. He had been stuck under the rubble for some time.
The family of Mr Cassaniti described their devastation at the loss and asked the government to take immediate steps to improve construction site safety.
They also expressed their eagerness to hear of the outcoome of the investigation into the fatal incident.
