In a world first study researchers from the University of Sydney found that Australians between the ages of 18 and 40 who regularly used sunscreen in their childhood, had less of a risk of developing melanoma.
In fact using sunscreen in childhood reduced the risk of melanoma development by 40 per cent.
The researchers found that regular users of sunscreen were more likely to be female and younger but the study proves the importance of long term sunscreen use. If you work outdoors, as construction workers often do, sun protection is vital to avoiding skin diseases like skin cancer etc.
