Serious Workplace Injury leads to $60k Fine for Employer
Work from height safety is a major concern in the construction industry and in 2016 eight people lost their lives due to work related falls, many more were injured.
In a recent incident a building company in Dural was fined $60,000 after it failed to ensure the safety of a worker who was seriously injured after falling through an unguarded void in June 2015.
The company did not check if the scaffolding was safe. It also failed to ensure fall protection measures were implemented.
