The WestConnex project in Sydney’s inner west is the source of more controversy, this time due to the noise and air pollution emitted from the site.
Residents say the huge road construction project is causing depression and breathing problems including asthma.
One resident, a psychologist says the WestConnex construction is causing her depression, another resident says the project has caused asthma in her child.
Despite residents’ claims, NSW Roads and Maritime Service says air quality standards for the project are best in the world.
Residents have given evidence at a NSW parliamentary inquiry into the impact of WestConnex, providing evidence that the noise and air pollution caused by the construction process is affecting their mental and physical health.
