The parents of a worker crushed to death on a work site are still waiting for answers as to what happened the day their son died. The tragedy has prompted the parents to call for industrial manslaughter laws.
Parents Dave and Janine Brownlee say directors of companies should be held responsible for the deaths of their employees.
This after their 21 year old son died in hospital after the trench he was working in collapsed at a Ballarat construction site.
The details of the incident are still being investigated by Victoria Police and WorkSafe Victoria however no one has been charged as yet.
The father of the worker has backed a union campaign to introduce industrial manslaughter as a crime in Victoria. It is hoped this will motivate employers to take care of their workers.
