A central Sydney construction worker recently died after being struck by a steel beam on Wednesday afternoon.
The worker, a man in his 30s was working near Sydney’s Darling Harbour at Barangaroo at the time of the incident.
Police say a large piece of steel fell and crushed the man’s torso, killing him instantly.
A WorkSafe NSW investigation is underway but authorities have highlighted that the incident could have been prevented as there shouldn’t have been anyone in the area when lifting is taking place.
