A man was airlifted to hospital on Thursday morning following an incident at the Boondooma Dam repairs construction site which left him with lower limb injuries.
The incident involved a 7 tonne air compressor which pushed the man onto a structure of reinforced steel. The structure then rolled over the man resulting in injuries.
A critical care doctor arrived via LifeFlight and treated the man on the scene until Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics arrived and transported the man to Sunshine Coast University Hospital.
He arrived in a stable condition, while another worker was also taken to hospital for treatment of shock.
Work on the site came to a halt and investigations are underway.
