ACT employers were recently reminded to make safety a priority on the work site and check for risks associated with cold temperatures this winter.
During cold weather there are additional risks and hazards that may not be present in warmer months for example the risk of slips, trips and falls which increase in cold weather.
Particularly if you work in construction or are involved in outdoor trades, you may be impacted by the cold weather.
Most of the injuries associated with cold weather hazards and risks are preventable such as falls which could cause chronic back pain, joint injury etc.
Simple steps like wiping up spills as soon as they appear, could mean the difference between safety and an injury.
