A company or person conducting a business must prevent the possibility of fire or explosion from an ignition of flammable substances associated with a hazardous area or a hazardous atmosphere.
WorkCover QLD also provided a number of recommendations for controlling the risks of fire and explosion in the workplace beginning with identification and management of hazardous area, controlling emissions of flammable vapours, gases and mists and eliminating ignition sources from hazardous areas.
