After a slump in June, building approvals have rebounded which is good news for the construction industry and the economy at large. In July there was an increase of 4.2 per cent, driven mostly by multi-level approvals.
The state with the best performing construction industry in July was New South Wales. The state experienced a record number of approvals in July (6,824).
House prices were also up again with data from a CoreLogic RP survey showing a 0,3 per cent rise nationally in August.
House prices in Sydney showed the highest rise, 1,1 per cent in August and 17.6 per cent year on year.
